About the course
The Bachelor of Information Technology is a three-year course with a personalised learning experience. We focus on areas with high job demand such as web/mobile app development and ICT management. Our learning facilities include the latest technology such as CISCO routers and switches, Amazon cloud servers and virtualisation (Hyper-V) infrastructure. All students undertake the same first-year subjects, followed by major studies (eight units) in years two and three. Choose from: Web and Mobile Application Development Network and System Computing. Students will also study 4 Graduating Core units, and undertake minor studies (four units) in one of the following: ICT Management Software Development Network Management. These are subject to the approval of the course coordinator and may be limited by prerequisite requirements and unit availability. We are proud to announce that from March 2020 VU Sydney will use the innovative VU Block Model across all our undergraduate courses.
Entry into the Bachelor of Information Technology requires you to have completed: TAFE: Completion of a cognate (similar discipline) Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent), will be granted advanced standing of a maximum 96 credit points (Diploma) or 144 credit points (Advanced Diploma). Year 12: Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in any other English; and a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics. International: Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including at least one of the following subjects: Mathematics OR Completion of an Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent); PLUS: IELTS (or equivalent): Overall score of six (with no band less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking). Mature: Applicants with relevant work, education and/or community experience will be considered for admission to the course.
